US History (History 200) 2014-2015

Course Description

This course is a survey of the history of the United States from its initial colonial days to the emergence of the United States as a major world power in the twentieth century. Our nation has struggled with shaping democracy into a working system of government. By examining the evolution of this political, economic and social struggle we will understand how America has generated opportunities for Americans of many diverse cultures and religions. Through the study of history you will develop a finer ability to use critical analysis and will develop verbal and writing skills as you trace and analyze the development of the American experience.
